Dr. Mona Nasr

Dr. Mona Nasr is currently Associate Professor at Information Systems Department, Faculty of Computers and Information, Helwan University and Ex-Vice Dean at the Canadian International College (CIC), El Sheikh Zayed Campus. She was born in Cairo, Egypt. She received the M.Sc. degree in information systems from Faculty of Computers and Information, Helwan Univeristy, Egypt, 2000. Ph.D. degree in Information Systems from Faculty of Computers and Information, Helwan Univeristy, Egypt, 2006.

Dr. Mona is supervising many M.Sc. and Ph.D. Theses, Member of Examiner board for many Msc and PhD,  Ex-Vice Executive Manager for Development of Students’ Assessment System project for Helwan University (8 Faculties), Project No. AP1–028– HEL, Ex-Registrar for Software Engineering Department (2010- 2014 ), Member of Helwan University Marketing Center, Member of Department Council, Helwan University (2009- 2014), Member of Faculty Council, Helwan University (2012- 2014),Board member of the community Service Center and Environmental Development, Helwan University (2010 - 2014), Board Member of Software Engineering program, Helwan University (2010 - 2014), Ex-Manager of Student Assessment and Exams Unit at Faculty of Computers and Information,Board Member of the Egyptian Society for Information Systems and Computers Technology, member in other societies such as (IEDRC, IACSIT, MJC, IAOE, TWOWS/OWSD, CSTA, ArabWIC ABI,...etc), Supervising many graduation projects.

Dr. Mona has published many articles in International journals and conferences in the area of Cloud Computing, Mobile Agents, Data Mining, Information Security, Software Engineering, e-Learning, Conceptual Mapping and BI & GIS. She participated in organizing many local and international workshops, and she is an active reviewer for numerous international journals, Keynote Speaker in many International Conferences, Member of the organizing committee of the 1^st International Conference in the Computing and Informatics (11- 13) Dec., 2012, Cairo, Egypt, and CO-Publicity Chair of the International Conference on Engineering and MIS - ICEMIS 2015,The International Conference on Engineering and MIS 2015 will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, 24-26 September, 2015.

Dr.Mona Awarded :-

-          A trophy (The Best Senior Level STEM Executive 2015) from Meera Kaul Foundation. The foundation focuses on women and women led enterprise in STEM ( Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in North America, Eastern Europe, and selected countries in Middle East, Africa,China and India.

-          Full fellowship from Bibliotheca Alexandrina(BA) in cooperation with The German Academic Exchange Servicethrough the DAAD Kairo, Alexandria, Egypt. 

-          Full fellowship from Bibliotheca Alexandrina(BA) in cooperation with the Arab Regional Office for the World Academy of Science for the advancement of science in developing countries (TWAS-ARO), Alexandria, Egypt. 

-          Full fellowshipfrom The Cyprus Institute for participating in the Third SESAME-LinkSCEEM Third Cross-sectional HPC Workshop, Cairo, Egypt.

-          Full fellowshipfrom The Cyprus Institute for participating in the Second SESAME-LinkSCEEM Summer School, Allan-Jordan.

Dr. Mona Participated in the Global State of Young Scientists (GloSYS) project 2013 for Global Young Academy, the academy is hosted at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW), Joined the Judging committee of the 2013, 2014 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, Intel ISEF-Egypt.

Dr. Mona serve as Keynote Speaker and conference participant in many countries such as : ( (Cairo, Alex, Mansoura, Luxor)Egypt, (Irbid, Amman)Jordan, (Medina, Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca)Saudia Arabia, (Riga)Latvia, (Istanbul, Yalova)Turkey, (Beijing) China, (Abu Dhabi) UAE)... etc.
